What sessions cost, and how coverage works
Fees in Canadian dollars. Psychotherapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist is exempt from HST in Ontario.
Rates are prorated for other session lengths. Fees are subject to yearly increases; existing clients are given 30 days’ notice and stay at their original rate during that period.
Cost should be the clearest part of starting therapy
If it is a barrier, say so during your consult. We would rather talk about it than let it be a barrier to helping you.

Sliding scale places
Flora holds 5 sliding-scale places per caseload, offered at $115 per 50-minute session, for clients who cannot meet the standard fee for financial reasons.
There is no means test and no paperwork. Raise it during your free consult and we will tell you honestly whether a place is currently open.
Coverage
Insurance and coverage
Many extended health plans in Ontario reimburse sessions with a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), including plans through Manulife, Sun Life, Canada Life, GreenShield, Medavie Blue Cross and Desjardins. Coverage varies by plan and by employer, so check your policy wording, usually listed under psychotherapy, psychological services, or paramedical practitioners.
We provide receipts with RP credentials for submission to your insurer. We do not currently direct-bill.

Is psychotherapy covered by insurance in Ontario?
Usually, but not through OHIP. Provincial health insurance does not cover psychotherapy delivered by a Registered Psychotherapist, so sessions are paid privately and then claimed against an extended health plan if you have one. Most workplace plans include a mental health or paramedical allowance that renews annually. Check your policy for the word psychotherapist specifically, since some plans cover psychologists or social workers but not RPs, and a few require a doctor's note before they will reimburse.
