Notes from the practice

Writing on relationships, boundaries, health anxiety and the things that come up most often in the therapy room.

What you will find here

These are written by the clinicians who do the work, not commissioned to fill a content calendar, which is why there are not many and why they appear irregularly. Each one usually comes out of the same question being asked often enough in sessions that it seemed worth answering properly.

The recurring subjects are the ones this practice works in: boundaries and why they collapse, relationships and repair after infidelity, health anxiety with chronic and hormonal conditions, and burnout — including the particular version of it that runs on the school calendar. There is also the occasional piece on reading, and one about the practice dogs.

None of it is a substitute for therapy and none of it is advice for your situation specifically. If something here lands closer than you expected, that is usually worth a conversation rather than more reading.
